my first Woot - Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro Stick

I have a confession to make...

Since I've created an account on Woot a few months ago I've been guilty of incessant Woot stalking, specifically Woot daily products, Woot shirts, and Woot discussions. The only exception is Woot wine though, as I have yet to develop a penchant for such a classy social lubricant.

Woot stalking, however, often does not translate to purchasing, which is similar to how Facebook stalking usually does not translate to "+1 Add as Friend." But I digress. The fact is that most of the items I've come across are either junk or ones I don't need (ex: iPhone protectors - nope, I don't have an iPhone).

With the odds of around 1000 to 1, I somehow found myself making my first Woot last week - a Pinnacle's PCTV HD Pro Stick for $39.99 + $5 shipping, which is such a significant accomplishment that I'll dedicate a blog entry to celebrate the occassion.

For an entire hour today, I unwrapped the FedEx package like how one would usually open a Christmas present, puts all the parts together, and installed the thingmajig on my PC rig after close to a bajillion patches and a few online chats with the Pinnacle tech support (who have no idea what they're talking about - each one gave me a different solution to my problems!)

And lo and behold, above all my expectations, the USB-flash drive sized gadget delivered. With a shabby-looking 4 foot-looking antenna, I was able to receive 32 clear, crisp HD digital chanels, 13 crappy analog ones, and 20 radio channels... which ultimately beats my wimpy Comcast basic cable TV subscription! (I may actually cancel the Comcast TV now as the free digital airwaves rox0rz!)
