vote Igor for Rent Board!

For those of you from Cal that don't know Igor Tregub, pay attention:

In my past few years working in the ASUC student government, I've witnessed Igor's presence all over campus and beyond, making a difference whenever and wherever he can. And now, he's running for Berkeley City Rent Board and needs our support. So, please join me in supporting Igor this Sunday as he seeks to represent us on the Berkeley City Rent Board!

More specifically, here's what you can do:

1) Stop by the "Igor For Rentboard" event this Sunday, August 3...

• Location: North Berkeley Senior Center
• Street: 1901 Hearst Ave. (Hearst and MLK)

2) Join the  "Igor For Rent Board" Facebook Group to help spread the word.

Here's a message from Igor himself:

Dear friends,

I am running for the Rent Board because I would like to protect and expand the rights of students and tenants in Berkeley, a place that we all call home. With your help, we can succeed when we fight to achieve:

1) Seismically safe housing all over Berkeley
2) Interactive outreach to ALL Berkeley tenants
3) Effective pro-tenant advocacy on the local and state levels

For the last five years, I have tenaciously represented students and tenants as an ASUC senator and city affairs adviser and the chair of the Berkeley Commission on Labor. I supported or organized campaigns to
- Save student cooperative housing
- Expand the rights of the Greek community
- Lower or freeze residence hall rents by waiving the Parking Replacement Policy
- Educate students on the rights they have with the most successful Tenants' Rights Week in history
- Integrate the achievement of clean, affordable, and safe housing with other progressive causes.

To continue to advocate for you, what I need is 2-4 hours of your time at the progressive convention which will determine who will run for the Rent Board in November. If you are willing and able, please come to the North Berkeley Senior Center at 4pm on Sunday, August 3 to cast me as your number one vote.

Please bring friends - they don't need to be registered to vote in Berkeley, as long as they live here. A big party is planned afterwards - win or lose!
